05Dakota: My Tow/Haul tranny mode (Switch = ON) is a custom shift schedule that allows less aggresive downshifts
CarGuyOhio: I would remove your custom tranny settings. That makes the tranny shift harder, or I should say at higher RPMs and when pulling considerable weight that is not a good thing for the tranny.
OhioGuy: How do you read higher RPM and harder shifts into my "less aggressive" statement above?

CarGuyOhio: The tranny shift schedule does not alter what RPM your truck shifts at.... WTF! It sure does.
Your words...not mine. Are you into the bottle a little heavy today????

I did not read your post at all. I read his and offered my suggestion as it pertains to his "custom" schedule.

He will have a very aggressive shift schedule based on his pic and mods(and most likely TM settings), to much will be bad under towing conditions. You are better off with the stock shift schedule with the tow/haul on.

I'll try and clear up a few things for you guys. I AM running my own shift schedules which are set up fairly aggressive. My shift points are also quite AGGRESSIVE. TM is 8%. CarGuyOhio is correct in that my current shift schedule is much too aggressive for towing as much weight as I am planning. I think that either the SC towing schedule or the factory tow/haul schedule would be a better choice based on the weight I am towing. (Or at least a good place to start). However, I think that the torque management could be reduced to perhaps 50% or maybe slightly less, for less slip (heat build-up) between shifts. I think this is where I will start.
