Default Truck Load

Whats goin on fellas. I am redoing my man cave "garage" so I am going to Lowes tomorrow to pick up some sheetrock. I need to get 26 boards. Do you think I could put all in the truck? Any experience out there? Thanks for the help

I successfully hauled 24 with a little bit of a squat. 2 more should be okay.

4x8x1/2 drywall = 54lbs each x 26 = 1,404lbs.

Max payload = 1,600lbs - 175lbs driver - 100lbs gas = 1,325lbs for drywall

Do you have air bags in the springs? I had twenty sheets of 4x8 sheetrock in the quad cab with air bags, I am not sure if you can haul the same because you have the crew cab with the smaller bed.

Ok but 4x8x5/8=70 lbs
and 4x10x1/2=68 lbs

so for either of those two sizes=2k lbs

I still vote trailer, depending on how far you have to go and how much you value your time... of course I am biased.

I've hauled 2 loads of brick pavers at ~2k each with no issues in my crew cab. Just took it easy over bumps and turns. It squatted quite a bit and only had about 1" from the axle to the bump stops.

100 lbs over you would seriously consider that? Unless of course you are going 100 miles but I am seeing you going maybe across town? It's a frikken truck not a minivan.....wow they so underrate these things, 100lbs for gas...full tank? LOL let some air out get rid of a few ounces, vacumn the truck, what if he is a larger person oh oh , take off 2 more sheets. Two trips sounds safe, how far you have to go? I may have missed that or something.
Dang its still a truck, they used to build them all with coils years ago and somehow those farmers managed, you think they checked the load capabilities. LOL doubtfull, I remember being on the top of a carefully piled hay bails in the back of a pickup no word of a lie all you could smell was burning clutch cuz it was so heavy and hard to get moving. Was on the axle for sure you go feel it felt like we were driving on rocks on a soft grass area. It was a Ford though hmmm LOL same crap different badge loader up and get er done!
