18" Magnaflow vs. Stock
So after much debate, I decided on an 18" magnaflow for my SI/SO exhaust - straight muffler swap, resonators left on to reduce drone. Ordered it and it is sitting at the exhaust shop waiting for me to come in tomorrow for install. Everything I had read about it and all the vids I watched lead me to believe this would have the right loudness and tone I wanted. I even went as far as to contact a couple members who did the straight muffler swap and left the resonators on who said they were happy with the volume and tone and it was much better than stock.
Today, I came across two threads on another Dodge forum that indicated the 18" magnaflow is really no louder or better sounding than a stock SLT unless you remove the resonator.
Last chance for me before I get this thing welded in. Anyone agree with this other forum? Am I throwing away my money for nothing?

I'm in the same boat, waiting to hear from other members. Some say the 18" has drone, most say it doesn't. Most say its perfect. Some say the 24" is not much louder than stock, however the Sport model has a louder tone to begin with from the factory. I'm figuring on going with an 18" mufflex so it can be removed easily if needed.
Just had the 18" mufflex (Magnaflow) put on yesterday. Glad I didn't try doing it myself in the garage. Definitely louder than stock (sport) but sounds really good. Not obnoxious or anything. I haven't done any highway to see if there is a drone but I'm sure it's nothing that radio won't drown out.
I converted from single to the dual setup- used a magnaflow 18 with stainless tail pipes and the factory tips, no resonators. I also got the chrome dual exhaust bumper.
I freaked out a little at first because the noise difference was drastic - I was almost positive I was going to add the resonators on. After putting about a thousand miles (highway, city, and towing) I have decided to keep the system w/out the resonators. It sounds healthy- I lost slightly on the low end torque but picked up some nice top end.

I had the 14" installed on my Bighorn. From viewing the videos online, the movies seemed to be louder than my actual install. I had a Catback Magnaflow system on my dakota that cost me 800 bucks, and it sounded better and more noticeable, however that was the 4.7 High Output. but overall im happy with the 14". I was debating the 14 vs 18, and was leaning toward the 18. I'm glad i ended up with the 14 tho.
I have the 18" magna flow and I can tell a very noticable difference in the tone of the truck under throttle. When you are cruising not so bad, but when you take off at a red light or pass another car, there is a significant difference over stock. I almost wish I would have went with the 24". Also I had my shop weld the joints as I've heard the clamps are not very good.
Had my 18" magnaflow installed yesterday. Whoever posted to those threads I referred to in the other forums must have not cleaned their ears in quite a while because there is an obviously noticable difference from stock. I am quite happy with the sound, its exactly what I was looking for!
