First tow with lift
This is our first long tow with our truck, it handles our trailer fine, no bags yet, just the equlizer hitch I got free from my neighbor, it was new and he got a dually, just gave it to me, with the sway control also, our trailer is 32 foot Sierra, using it this weekend , it weighs 4850, so its a lighter one, but still pulled it all over the place, maybe the wider tires helped ,but it felt REAL stable, held the road, i thought it was going to sway all over the place, but it doesnt, plugged in the brake controller, and now have trailer brakes, man that one was easy, took more time to read the directions , which later I found only told me to plug it in ............, works great drove it around here for about 3 days so far with it on there, went up 2 of our tall bridges it went into 4th, and pulled that sucker (TOO FAST), looked down at the speedo and it was on 75 mph, i tow at 60/65 normally, , I still need a longer drop for the hitch but for this weekend it will be fine. Thanks for looking
I did the lift myself, and it was a great price, since they used it for there web site, (I just lucked out).great people and they can get you just about anything at great prices,I have different things from them.

Bullram, truck looks great! I have a 09 1500 Sport 4x2, im dealin with a local shop on plans of lifting and putting aftermarket wheels with 35's. The CST lift is the one im planning on going with, but on their site CST has a 4" kit and a 7" kit, is the 6" kit you have a link to above the same as the 7" kit on the CST website? Their 7" kit says it includes new springs and needs aftermarket rear shocks, but the 6" does not. Thanks in advance. P.S. Are you completely satisfied with the ride and handling, im a little hessitant of lifting, but I love the look.
Great trip this weekend, first real tow, to the lake, forgot some things like digital converter box for the TV , the boys didnt mind all that water and our jet ski, hooked on and took off, first thing I noticed was the POWER, even with 3:21's it pulled the trailer fantastic, any body telling youo it wont pull with 3:21's ,needs to really ride in one, I amnot saying 24HRS. a day pulling ,I would need a better gear, but after this towing is over , my mileage will be past 21 every day, still, so this gear doesnt hurt me, I knew the gas mileage was going to be less, but that is a given my best with this trailer was 13.5, my worst was 11.6,it downshifted sometimes to 4th when the hills were coming up but took them with no problem, towed in 5th, all the way, passed when i wanted to, kept it at 60mph, for my first time with this setup, (WELL I TRIED TO KEEP IT AT 60),The wife and I were talking and she comented that is seemed we were going too fast, I glanced down and was running 75, I laughed and slowed back down thinking 3:21's all the time....... I put on a equalizer hitch, and it worked great, hardly any squat, this is a 32 foot travel trailer loaded, no air bags, i really dont think I need them after this,it started raining bad on the way home, which made the speeds REAL slow, 45 tops, then the wind, the trailer would fell a bump of wind, and you would get a small feel on the steering wheel , but not white knuckle, i was impressed how it held the road, I am sure the sway bar that is on there works, but I didnt adjust it, just cranked it down like my buddy had his, when i pulled up all my friends DIESELS were there at the campsite, and came over to look at it, we showed them our mpg papers we had, and they were impressed for a GASSER, a few comments, about strength and a few jokes, but after we un hooked the trailer, and it was just HEMI, that laughter stopped........
I thought that was funny.......all in all a great weekeend, we will be going again soon
