Angry Bad paint job on new truck

Hello all. New to forum. I need info about a botched paint job by dealer. I will make this as short as possible. Brought this beautiful silver 2010 dodge ram Big Horn in March. The dealer cleaned it up and we noticed some scratches under the tail light. Well, they tried to buff them out, but had to repaint it. Paint didn't match and they painted the whole bed. Now the bed is a darker tint than the cab. Dealer trying to convince me the color is the same. In the sunlight not as noticeable. When the sun goes down, you can really tell the difference. What can I do. They have tried to paint my truck 4 times and each time it gets worse. Is there any way I can get a representative from the manufacturer to look at this and get it right? Please help me with this matter. I am afraid to take it back to them.

Here is what you can and should do, make them repaint the whole thing. if it is the same it will look the same in low and high light. not just high light.

They will never be able to butt match silver. The color should have been blended into the rear door. Silver is a very hard color to shoot and to match. At this point I would make them paint the full truck.
Even then I woudnt be happy. A good buyer would know if the truck has been resprayed. Then the questions come and you might loose a future buyer. I would want a new truck, good luck!

As a body shop manager and owner of a silver 09 Ram I can tell you that every silver 09, 10 Dodge Ram i've seen the silver is transparant. If you paint a panel, like the bedside it WILL be darker compared to the panel next to it because the newly painted panel is completely covered now, the panel next to it is showing the white or light gray factory e-coat through the silver. Not enough color on the silver trucks. It will never be correct unless they paint the whole truck.
Also these trucks are painted in waterbase paint at the factory, find a dealer with a body shop thats using waterbase paint, the color is a much better match.

Have a look at a new silver one on the lot, the bumpers are off from the painted metal and the door handles if painted are off also. All the parts that get painted outside the factory seem to be off even with other car makers and they don't care. Stone White is really bad the bumpers are so off in colour. That is our Avenger. White care with off white bumpers.

I am not very impressed with the QC on the paint with the 4th Gens. I have slag/debris thats been left and painted over on the inside of 2 door jambs and one spot near the roof moulding thats about the size of a dime. Pretty poor quality on such an expensive vehicle.

I had similar problems, don't give up. In the end (4 month battle) I had to go to a different dealership and explained how the other dealer kept messing up the paint. I also had the repair orders in hand, they are a must if you end up filing a complaint with Chrysler, LLC. Now in the end my truck was made correct with minor corrections to the paint (nothing too serious, just all over) and I ended up with a 7yr/100,000 mile maintenance plan and a lifetime maximum care plan all for "free". I must say the Chrysler rep. was very against helping me with anything until I advised him I would use my states lemon law seeing my truck had already been in the shop 17 days and we only had 13 more to go until it was a lemon. So, immediately his demeanor changed and he offered up what I previously stated. Bottom line is you pay a lot of money for a product and there are laws to protect you, the consumer. Use them!!! I hope all works out for you.

P.S. - I would not have the whole truck repainted. Like stated before a good buyer will know and furthermore, didn't you buy a new truck with factory paint, not a wrecker with a maaco paint job??????
