wheel polish/protector
[img] What is the best wheel polish to use to protect against salt from leaving blemishes on my chrome wheels?I have used EagleOne Nano, but it didn't seem to protect against salt.A few spots, which looks like dried water spots remains on my wheels, and will not buff out, even using the mothers polish with the powerball on a drill!!!!!Does anyone have a secret up their sleeve?Thats what I dislike about winter.....Constantly washing my truck, and waxing wheels to no end, knowing that it will not help....
This is the advantage of plasti-chrome. It does not pit as easily as the clear-coated aluminum wheels. I just use a quality Meguires wax on them a couple times/year. Seems to work pretty well. The brake dust is worse than the salt. The only way to limit/prevent all the front brake dust is to replace the pads with a better semi-metallic pad (US) from Wagner or another brand. I did this on my wife's minivan and the brake dust went away.

My wheels are the Helo max 6 aluminum, with chrome overlay finish,or should I say chromed aluminum wheels. It might be,but I hardly doubt brake dust being my issue because my truck is only driven about 20-25 miles a week, and is washed every sunday evening,if its not raining!I only noticed the spots after the first time it was driven in the snow this past winter.I don't know, maybe its a combination of both!

The only downside to ceramic pads is that they typically eat your rotors, alot faster than semi-metallic pads do.Performance is better, but shorter rotor life!I have not personally used them, but that is what I have been told by the auto parts salesman.
On the same topic: if you have chrome clads, the best solution I have found is Meguires PlastX with a powerball, they come out just like new!
