flag pole in bed?
went to the carolina vs georgia game today and saw a few ppl flying flags in the bed of their trucks. looked really good. just wondering if anyone knew a good way to do this. thought bout gooseneck and make a pole to fit in the hitch. any other ideas?
what I used to do id get s 1/2 in threaded floor flange, bolt it to the floor with self tapping screws, the mount the flag on 1/2 pipe. this way when you going down the hwy it would break off nd the pipe wint bend, and it is easy to remove the flag

I just took a flat peice of bar stock about two feet long and welded a piece of 1" Metal pipe to it. Bolted it to the top of the bed box just behind the cab on the top lip. I also thought about just making to pieces of bar stock with a simple ring welded to it. I wold bolt one up top and one at the bottom to hold the pole in two places. I use my bed bottom a lot so didn't want anything interfering with drywall or glass sliding all the way into the bed. Fits a regular 1" wooden flag. I don't drive around at highway speeds but it lasted so far at around town speeds 40-45ish with no breakage so far.
Sorry it is the only pic I have.

As long as the flag doesn't get ripped due to the flapping in the high winds, I'm OK with it. When I see the flag whipping around and tattered, it pisses me off - it's just plain disrespectful.

Agreed with the tattered flag bit. I am a member of the Patriot Guard. Hence in winter I cannot ride my Bike to funerals of fallen soldiers. So I needed a flag pole on my truck. The picture I showed of my truck was just before going to such a funeral. I also tend to mount the flag on the truck while at car shows or NASCAR races, 4th of July, Memeorial Day, 9/11 etc.....I don't normally ride around with it going to work or the bar....
