Michelin LTX tires
Anyone using Michelin LTX MS2 or the AT tires? I am in NH and getting ready for winter. The Wrangler HPs are getting low at 25K and are cupped as well. So I figure next month I will be looking at getting some tires for the Ram. Being 20's I need something that will not float on snow.
I still am confused why they call it an LTX MS2 if it is not stamped or rated an MS tire? I'd like the mileage out of the MS2 but wonder how they will do in winter driving conditions like we get here in the mountains of NH. Yes I have 4 wheel drive, but still need something I will comfortable/confident with.
Just wondering what you think.

Both tires rate well on tirerack, I have had the the original MS on my Sierra, they were a really nice tire. But, I did find the Bridgestone Dueler Revo better in the winter, but the Michelin were more quiet.
By the way, how were the Wrangler HPs in the winter when new? I am just about to drive into an Ontario winter soon, and am wondering how they will hold up.

Actually I did not have a problem with them last winter. But we did not get a lot of heavy snow last year. pretty calm compared to the year before up here.
I didn't get stuck and only used 4x4 about 8 times. I was well aware of the reviews that they were not a great tire to begin with so I was always careful when in the truck. I do have a n '06 Rav4 with the V6. It does great in snow so I used that pretty much during the big snows. (6" plus)

I had a set o Michelin LTXs on an '89 Dodge Raider (Mitsubishi Montero) I bought new in the fall of '88. Even back then stock Goodyear tires sucked ***** and I yanked them before the winter of '90 hit as they were cupping and wearing real unevenly at only about 25k miles.
I'm sure the LTX has changed a bit since then but it was a good tire. Not very usefull off-road for much more than trail riding, but they performed well on snow, ice and wet pavement. If memory serves I got right around 75k out of them.
Good little 4x4 SUV that Raider was btw. Little two door, 3.0 V6 Jeep Wrangler clone looking thing. To date, I owned it longer than any vehicle I've ever had, new off the showroom floor in late '88 til I sold it in the fall of '98 with 130k miles on the ticker. Paid $10,800 for it (stickered for $13,400) and sold it for $3900. Made it from being my DD to being my hunting/fishin vehicle to a weekend play toy at the end. Only issue I ever had with it that wasn't normal maintenance was the A/C burnt up the last year I had it.
