Didnt know how to title it lol, I have a 2010 dodge sport, i recently put the mopar cai, and was wondering if anyone has done the mufflex muffler with the throttle spacer, and the cai,im just wondering if it whistles? thanks Anthony

Mufflex is a cheap workaround from having a good Flowmaster, Gibson, Magnaflow or Borla. welded on by good exhaust shop. Throttlebody spacers are a waste. Get a good 40 series flowmaster. Thats what I did and I like like it.. But all in all thats just my opinion. To eac

X2 - a flowmaster is a great way to really make a vehicle run and sound like crap.
Wether or not a TB spacer helps or not seems to really depend on the motor. Doesn't sound like it makes any difference on the Hemi, but for some reason they do seem to produce measurable results on a couple of the older jeep motors (2.5L and 4.0L)

Flowmaster 40 mufflers sound good, but I hate the annoying droan in the cab at cruising speeds.....Ihad it on my truck, lasted about 2 weeks, and ordered a 4' section of 3" pipe, two 45 degree elbos, and three 3" preformed stainless steel exhaust band clamps, and made my own y-pipe,removing the muffler...I cut open the muffler, and from what I can conclude, the noise probably comes from the v-shaped baffles welded in place, wrapped in a single shell, causing resonence, were their is no sound deflecting material between the case, and inner portion of muffler...just my 2 cents!!!!!! The flowmaster would be awsome,if their were no resonence in cab.
I have had both a FM 50 and now Magaflow 14 on a Hemi Ram. The FM sounded good, but the MF seems to perform better. I have also done this on LT1 and LS1 powered birds.... MF and FM. Again, the MF seemed to perform better.
Calling Mufflex a cheap setup it not a good description.
The point of the Mufflex (wich is a MF) is for the good back yard mechanic to be able to do the install themselves in about an hour. There have been reports of "difficulty" getting them tight, to this day (25K miles) mine is tight with no leaks.
Last comparision between FM and MF.... The MF seems to be a better built muffler. The FM seems to start rusting, especially on the welds, very early in life.
As for the original question.... I have a K&N CAI. At certain RPMs I can hear the air flowing.... Not sure if I would call it a whistle, but it was not there when I had the stock airbox with a K&N drop in. And as others said, forget the spacer. If you want to spend 20-40 go to a strip club and get a dance or two, better value that that piece of plastic.
