If I struggle this winter (and in southern Ontario, we get "real" winter) with the stock Wrangler HPs. I am pretty sure I will be going with a set of Michelin LTX MS2.

Hopefully though, the stock Goodyears will do just fine, as i don't want to buy new tires to replace new tires.

I've got the stock 17" goodyears on mine, and they have been OK but not great - now with 36K miles on them they are going to be fairly useless for a MN winter.

I'd be curious how blizzaks hold up on a pickup truck, especially when towing. We run Blizzak WS-50's on one of our small cars, and they are so soft that they get pretty torn up when the roads stay dry for long periods in the winter.

HAHA, Thanks, but for the most part I prefer winter to what you have for summer. It gets hot enough here in August.

Well I live in the mountains in Bc and I can give you some thoughts on tires I have run in the winter. 1-10 ten being excellent. They really don't use sand out here more like 1/2 crushed rock, ya It sucks bad!! this is why I added rock throwing. All used on the same truck over the past 8 years. I really think I will be using the cooper STT again this year but have to wait and see how the Goodyears do. This is more snow driving than ice and about 80% hwy and 20% city.

Bridgestone Duller AT Revo LT285/75R16 (33")

Snow 5
Ice 3
Hard Pack 3
Rock throwing 1
Slush 3

Dick Cepek FC 2 LT285/75R16 (33")

Snow 7
Ice 5
Hard Pack 5
Rock throwing 8 (these tire's are bad for this)
Slush 5

Cooper STT LT315/75R16 (34".3)

Snow 9-10
Ice 7
Hard Pack 9
Rock throwing 2
Slush 8

Goodyear MT-R with Kevlar LT315/75R16 (36".7)New Oct/10 so can't say yet

Snow ?
Ice ?
Hard Pack ?
Rock throwing ?

The new Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's do awesome in any sort of snow from that I have read. That is what I'll be going with for my next set of tires...

I just picked up some Michelin LTX M/S2 s to replace the scalloped HPs.
We will have to see how they do. I figure those and 4 wheel drive should get me through the NH winters. Basically plowed roads. I have a V6, 4WD, RAV4 with dedicated snows to use as well....That thing is a ball to drive in snow...

My Nitto Trail grapplers did awesome last year and we got dumped on a lot.I didn't need to use 4 wheel drive.I did so I could get away from non snow drivers quick if I needed to.Which was quite a bit lol.I seen a van trying to get to Mcdonalds through a 4' snow drift. They musta been pretty damn hungry.Ya they didn't make it lol.I kept on trucking too thinking "what a dumbass" lol.
