Default Outer tie rod end

I had my truck in for state inspection last Friday and my mechanic told me that the outer tie rod end on the right side had some play in it and that it should be replaced by the dealer. It wasn't bad enough to fail inspection. So, I took it to the dealer and they say there is nothing wrong, and they won't replace the part. Personally, when I try to wiggle the wheel, I can't feel much play either. Has anyone else had trouble with this part? My truck only has 11,000 miles on it.

Assuming you have original tires and no lift, I can't see that going bad after 11K. Take it to another dodge dealer and just tell them you need another opinion and ask them to look at that piece. Hopefully they won't charge you since its under warranty. I wouldn't be happy if I was in the mountains and broke a rod because Dodge said it was good when it wasn't. Just my opinion though.
