Help me decide on an All-Terrain....
Another tire is Pro Comp Xtreme All Terrain. I don't have them yet but I have seen them on 17" rim at the dealer. The tire size was LT305/65R17. Which if I’m not mistaking is the about the same size as LT285/70R17. The only bad thing is they are a little pricey.

Nitto Terra Grapps on my Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4. Paid $127.50 per tire in 265/65/17 and so far have been great!
Very low noise, just a hint of wear at 16k miles and they stick to both dry and wet pavement like velcro. Well above average tire EVERYWHERE EXCEPT deep mud (where they are out of their element), but very good on the wet, slick Georgia red clay roads after a rain.
I highly recommend this tire for an A/T. Other good choices IMO are Toyo Open Country A/Ts, Cooper Zeons, and Mickey Thompson ATZs. As stated, the Firestone Destinations continue to get GREAT reviews, but for some reason don't seem to get much love from the truck crowd: definitely should be on the "short list".
Tires in my experience to avoid: BFG A/Ts (very average OVERPRICED tire, and the last set I had cupped and had belt separations), anything that says "GOODYEAR" on the side and Pro-Comps which just seem to wear too fast for anyone I know who has them.

I love the bfg's. I had such a good experience with them. I had 65000 miles on them when I traded my truck in and I probably could have gone another 15000. And I only rotated them once haha. Im just so annoyed by the price. Im really tempted to give the nittos a try. Im just worried about the tread life. Most reviews I read say they are getting about 30 to 35,000 miles. I just thank a tire should get more than that. Maybe I'm being unreasonable.
Pdavis--I never had a issue with my tires. Everything wore pretty even. I had them on my 2001 dodge ram 1500 with a leveling kit on it and like I said I never had any issues.

If anyone told me i need an alignment every 4000km, I think I would be looking at a different alignment shop, I would have to get one every 2-3 weeks. If they are making corrections every time maybe they are not doing it right....just my thoughts.
I've got General Grabber AT-2's on my 2002 Ram 1500 Std Cab Long Bed. I wouldn't trade them for anything, and will look for a set for my Grand Cherokee Ltd. when I wear out my Pirelli Scorpion AT's (which unfortunately they don't make any more - only the successor with a much more street-centric tread).
The Generals get great reviews in their class, are a relative bargain on price, and wear like iron so far. NO hydroplaning issues, great snow traction. etc.
