Default 2010 1500 Ram Chrome Bumper Rust

I thought with the 2011's they would have to have found a new bumper supplier and issue a recall on the 2010 bumpers. I was right. If you have this issue, its recall R23. There is also K17 for HVAC.

Just an FYI to all those that were told to "wait for a recall" and live with bumpers that looks like the hull of a rusted tugboat.

Inquired at my dealer. Apparently not all are covered. My issues not as bad as most but still there, and I also have issues with what looks like a streaming water stain coming out of both fogs but it won't come out with chrome cleaner or polish (dealer has attempted it twice now).

I was told my truck wasn't covered by the recall. Dealers looking into why its not since I have already been dealing with the issue. Still waiting to hear back.

Any documentation on these recalls, and what trucks are covered?

The bumper recall is just the front bumper, which is wierd because i had issues with both. Dealer has agreed to replace both. I am unsure why you could of been denied if you had any rust of any sort, I'd tell them to do it and do it soon.

Rust on a 2010 truck bumper? Amazing. What happened to all these whizbang multimillion $$ QC programs that revolutionized manufacturing?

I would like to see both replaced as well since the rust issue was worse on the rear bumper than the front. I am still waiting to hear back from the service manager. Not sure whats taking so long, I would assume that with having to have the work done on the bumpers already that it wouldn't be that hard of a decision to work with. On an even wierder note, a friend of mine who has pristine '09 bumpers has his truck included. He asked just out of curiosity today while in for an oil change, and they said his truck qualified even though he's never had one spot of rust. I don't get it....

eligible for the recall or not, it should be covered by warranty. My dealer would of replaced them back in April but the story was that they could not order them at this time. Now that the 2011's are out, they can order whatever they need because the part is from a new supplier.

call them up and tell them its a warranty issue!
