Why don't you steal their nuts?? I think something like this was in the news many years ago in Australia, I think. People would park their cars at the airport and when they returned from their trips their wires were all chewed up.

 

Last summer I had a squirrel get up in the engine as well. Luckily, all he did was shred some firewall insulation.
