Default noob 2wd lift questions..

new here and new to dodge.. ive done some reading around.. not sure if have the stuff im reading is for 2wd or 4wd so i figure ill start a thread to clear this junk up for me..

just bought my 2010 ram 1500 crew cab 2wd.. had plenty of lowered trucks.. went to lifted and back to lowered.. definitely want lifted for a daily.

anyways, i read that with a leveling kit i can run 33's.. well the factory tire is a 275/60/20.. online calculator says they are 32.99", but on the truck they measure 32".. so i fail to see why i cant run a 33" tall tire as the truck sits bone stock(on stock offset wheels atleast. i dont want some mega left, just no rake. so id like to bring the front up to sit level with the rear. whatever amount that will take.. so if i was to do so, i dont see why i couldnt run a 35" tire on stock wheels.. is this true, or am i missing something? now if i was to run a aftermarket wheel with less backspacing i can see why i need more lift to clear. but i dont mind the stock wheels, i just want 35's.. so can someone tell me what size lift i will need to clear 35's on stock wheels?

heres my truck as it sits..

i knew i seen a simillar question i dont have a ram.... yet but i know in the daks on a larger wheel you run the risk of rubbing your tire on the fenders and frame rail when you go to a larger size same may apply to the rams when going toa 35"

Well I think your answer lies in what you want to do with the truck. Do you just want to look cool and run larger tires or do you want to go off-road? Yeah I said Off-Road in a 2WD. There is an Off Road series built just for that classification. Anyway if you want looks then go with a Daystar 1.5" spacer for the front and run 35's. I installed this kit on my 2009 that I had and it was very easy as a do it yourself Project. The biggest thing with these trucks is the tire width. Keep it around 12" wide or less. I am sure someone is running wider with no problems but this will at least get you started. If you want to go Off-Road and performance is your goal then Check out Kore Lift kits. They make one for the 2009-2011 for the 4WD so I am sure it can either be adapted or they can put a kit together for you. Check out there site and give them a call. Here are the links to my two recommendations.

Thanks for the reply. And yeah i know u can offroad a 2wd lol. I would need more then 1.5" to sit level. And do u have pics of the one leveled on 35's? Id want to run 35x12.50 mud grapplers. I dont really do off roading. But i go off road to ger places. Not gonna wheel it.

Don't want to burst your bubble but your not gonna be able to get 35"s under a 2wd with just a leveling kit. It has been done yes, but it will rub and it will look like the tires are stuffed under the fenders. Its only happened a few times but if I crank the wheel hard enough on mine I can rub the tires.

If your looking for a low cost way and very effective way to run a larger tire, looking to a leveling kit and a 3" Performance Accessories body lift. I know I know, body lift I hear it all the time. But know one can even tell mine has a body lift on it. Nothing but compliments and the ride is better then stock with the larger tires.

I was really nervous having a body lift put on my truck. But when it was all done I was pretty excited with the results. You don't see much frame at all under the truck even with out steps. Steps would hid the frame completely. I have friends with stock Chevy trucks that show twice as much frame.

Had the lift installed for $600 but they gave be a great discount on the lift kit and half off on the labor becuase I bought everything from them.
