For years I ave changed oil at 3000 miles. I'm thinking to go a little further before I change.
When do you guys change oil?
Thanks,

Between 6K and 10K. Just depends on how hard I've been driving it, the weather, idle times, and believe it or not, when I can get a deal on oil. lol

5,000 miles with Walmart SuperTech 5w-20 conventional, which is certified API rated SM. I beleive the API certification is more important than the brand you use.

I am religous on oil changes at 3,000 miles.Knowing todays oils are manufactured to higher standards,an SM rated oil could probably stand 5,000 OCI.Send in a UOA at 4,000 miles, and see what the specs are.If ok,try 5,000,see what the specs are.No two people drive the same, live in the same climates, well you know what i mean....A OUA would be your answer to see if you could do extended oil changes, and to what mileage is safe to meet, and not to exceed.........

Hemis are easy on oil.Pennzoil Platinum.Ultra,Mobil1,Kendall,Castrol,Super techs etc.SM rated oils will all go 6k plus easily.Thats why the NEW mileage required change is 8k on Hemi's.GM.Honda and others with their OLM systems are going further then that on most of their vehicles theses days. But 3k is long gone.
