Default New 1500 with a couple issues,

I bought a 2010 Hemi 1500 last tuesday and i'm having some issues. First off, on Sunday I was parked at the gas station and when I got in the truck and put it in drive nothing happened so then I shifted into reverse which worked then shifted back to drive and it did go into gear. Since wednesday it has been momentarily 'hanging up' on the downshift in the 40-50mph range (4th-3d?) Also im hearing a pressure-relief like sound coming from somewhere when upshifting (at random speeds). I really like the truck.. but what is the deal here?

Should be getting the truck to the dealer....I'd get there and park it at the front door.

Yes it's going to the dealer monday. Also I was wondering if a 500rpm idle at the stoplight is normal? It hangs around there most of the time and even has fallen lower a couple times but then it would rev back up to about 700? Hope this isnt another problem

If it were an older truck I would say a vacuum line is off. That could actually affect your shifting as well, and account for the sound you are hearing.

Let us know what the dealer finds. It will probably show up as code right away....

Have it checked, BUT 500rpm idle is not uncommon. (mine sits at 500rpm)
How many miles on the truck....What octane gas are you using...???? Are you buying your gas at the same place everytime...???? Are you filling the tank every time you get gas...??? Suggest tryin some other gas stations. As for drop in rpm occasionally, dosent surprise me with the crappy gas we have today. Toss a bottle of GOOD quality gas treatment in the tank and fill it up. Do NOT use a gas/fuel treatment that contains alcohol, alcohol attracts water.

And to the guy in here that thought possible "vacuum hose off", you`re correct, and i would think if it were, it would have a consistant idle issue, and would throw a code if it did.(correct again) The hiss might be coming from the idle air control valve. It might be trying to compensate for the wierd idling issue he`s having, and you would definately here it hissing at idle. RPM`s would also be going up and down. Could also have slight carbon built up in the idle control valve causing it to stick slightly. That would depend on the miledge and crappy gas most the time. A good fuel treatment would usually take care of this.

Keep us all up to date with what you find out, be very interesting info to pass on to others if THEY were to have simular idle issues.

I'm hoping it is just a hose or something simple like that, from the noise i'm hearing there's prob a good chance it is. As for gas all i've been running in it is 89 or 91 gotten at several different places, truck has 1200 miles. stay tuned..
