Default odd question

does any one know if these trucks have an engine break of sorts... when i let off the gas it almost feels as my frieghtliner at work does when i got the jake turned on.. it bogs down before i press the brake peddle.

that being said it is in D and not on manual shift in a low gear

has any one else felt this

I wish mine did that, theres absolutely no engine braking on mine when I let off the gas. Actually I've never had a vehicle that coasts as freely as this truck does. I've heard this engine braking thing from other 2010-11 owners as well so maybe they programmed it into the later trucks. Mine is an early build 09.

Only time I get any noticable engine braking is when tow/haul is turned on.

I have the 4.7 and It does it. I Went down mount eagle let off the gas and truck maintained it's speed like a Jake break.

Mine also does that. its the ECO mode that seams to cause this.

I don't know what causes it but mine does it. Good for the brakes I guess but kind of annoying at times.

Mine does it all the time when tow/haul is turned on, great feature to have when towing trailers.

mine does not unless in tow/haul mode. When in "D", non cruise control, the truck likes to coast going down hills. I either have to use brakes, t/h mode, or downshift out of "D" to reduce/maintain speed.
