Default A GM kill, and not a truck

Late at night... 2 lane blacktop and no one around.

He keeps edging up, falling back. So I bit. (Never seems to happen when I am out in the SRT)

What I do not know is if it was the Supercharged 3.8 or 2006 V8, it was a Monte Carlo SS.

3.8 info http://www.modernracer.com/chevrolet...arlosupss.html
V8 indo http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...upe/index.html

At the time I really had very little knowledge of the car, that is why I looked it up. Based on the results I would guess it was a modded 3.8 or a base V8.

It was a 50 roll and I had a nice even slow pull away until I let off around 90.

Well, if Monte Carlo has not been paid in full yet, that car payment is going to be a little sour next month, lol!

The first week I had my Ram, a brand new Toyota Solara convertible wanted to race me (lurching forward) from a dead stop (stoplight). Usually wouldn't bother in a truck, but I was curious....

Hammered it at the stop light, looking over, the Solara wasn't even at my rear bumper anymore, looked at the speedometer and was pulling near 70-75, and started to slow down, then looked in my rear view mirror to find him tailgating my bumper, flashing his high beams and blaring his horn. Must not of been to happy to lose to a Crew Cab truck, lol!

I'd caution you about GM's being sore losers, I have an 05 CTSV and will be the first to vouch it is not a car to play with in a crew cab truck... ANY crew cab truck.

They make pickups look as slow as semi's, and mines the older version...

while we're on the topic of GM's loosing friday night i was at a set of lights and noticed a guy and his buddy eyeing up the ram so i pulled forward a bit. they fallowed in suit... next was the long pause between red to green...... light turned green i gave it some gas to see if he'd bite.. sure enough i here the chev pickup whining out. so punched it before we cleared the four lane intersection he was done for. next set of lights we got stopped at he wouldnt even look my way hahahaha... all i can say is shoulda bought a dodge !

Never said we could take down an LS V8....

Trust me, I come from a GM family and am fully aware of what they are doing on that side of Detroit. You want to race the CTS? Coolio. I'll go get the 426 challenger to come to the track.

I am finding that all sorts of people want to race these trucks at stop lights and I can only imagine that it is going to get worse once I've got my exhaust on. In fact, just last night on the way home from class there was a little Hyndai something or another wanting to race... I didn't even get out of first gear before he gave up.

There was an Impala that punched it from a light and I didn't even notice. I was just giving it my regular throttle. I needed to get in front of him so I gave it a little more and a little more until I realized he had his foot down so I buried mine (this was around 30mph).

By 50mph I pulled 2-3 car lengths forward and was able to get in front of him.

And we have 3.21 gears...so all that was just first gear.

If you guys want to start talking super powered family sedans I'll be happy to race you guys in our M5. Don't think your 05 CTS-V would be anywhere near me by 140mph...

Last week I pulled up to a light, Toyota Prius was there, the sun glared at our faces as we looked dead into one another eyes, like the race was on....

We left the line in a panic, his car went into FULL BLOWN Engine mode..I could hear the electric sound of his motor dissipating as the full blown 1.8Liter took charge. The HEMI seemed worried at first, his acceleration was immediate, but.........

okay that's enough...

Sorry.

Just be carefull with the Monte Carlo. I met a guy on a club meeting here in Dallas and the guys were all over his red Monte Carlo SS. When i went to check what was all the fuzz about i saw that the Monte Carlo was supercharged or turbo charged and dropping 750 hp at the wheel......
