Default 2010 Hemi Sport Good Deal?

I used to own a 06 QC Sport but sadly I was laid off in July and traded it in for a 4 banger because I didn't know how long I'd be laid off for. I'm back on stable ground again so I'm aching to pick up a 2010 Sport. I stopped at a few dealers and Dodge sent me a loyalty and incentive paperwork that seems to be great offer.

The Window Sticker;
1500 SLT QUAD 4x4
Preferred Package 26L
Addons;
Remote Start And Security Group
3.92 Rear Axel Ratio
5.7 V8 Hemi MDS VVT Engine
Sport Performance Hood
Uconnect Voice Command
Class IV Receiver Hitch
Spray BedLiner
Mopar Step bar
$39,800 Sticker

TPP $36864.00
Sales & Tax $1114.89
Proc Fee $299.00
Dealers Business License Tax 2% $35.13
Tag Transfer $24.00
Total Cash Delivered Price $38337.02

Cash Down payment $2000.00
Down Payment Rebate $5000.00
Trade In value $19300.00 (Payoff is $18,677.88)

Total Credits $7122.12
Upaid Cash Balance $31214.90

That seems like a good deal to me I told them to keep the payments under $500 and they said they would. What do you guys think? They have to drive it 500 miles to get it here so they want me to sign on the dotted line before they will pick it up.

You currently have a car with under $700 of equity in it and you are trading it in? Not sure how many years they are going to finance you for, but if you do the math a payment under $500 is going to be at least 6 years - which is a really dumb term for a car loan. The fact that you havn't done the math tells me you should do a little more research before spending 31K

Aside from that they deal doesn't sound all that great, especially for a Quad cab. The 2011's are on the lots and they are trying to get rid of the 2010s.

Edit: What the heck is this for? Proc Fee $299.00

Actually a 6 year loan without a pre-paid penalty is standard fare now and days. I always apply extra to my loans each month when I can afford it and when I can't it's nice knowing I can drop down to the $500. I would guess I'll have this paid off in 4 years based on my previous loans.

Proc Fee is just an administration fee for doing all the paper work again standard fare these days.

I ran the same numbers on a 2011 with less features and it came out more, way more because the incentives weren't there. So, that being said there's more "Bang for your buck" with the 2010 right now.

Normal car loan is 36 or 48 months, don't let anyone tell you that 6 years for a car loan is normal or a good idea.
Paperwork fee? I've got 2 cars bought in the last 2 years, didn't pay anything like that

2011's are selling for $10K under sticker around here, might want to look around at a few other dealers - any remaining 2010s outght to be dirt cheap.

Here is an example of a local 2011, couldn't even find a 2010 on a local lot

the deals are different everywhere, if you are happy with a deal go for it man, its doesnt seem like a bad deal to me. i understand youre looking for a little advice from someone, but the getting 10,000 off a 2011 with a trade in isnt going to happen. a lot of the fees, which im sure you are well aware get sunk into the trade that you are doing. its a completely different story if you are going in and buying the vehicle straight up. good luck tho and hopefully you find a good deal that you are happy with, im sure you'll love the truck!

I agree with oldjeep, you could easily save a lot more doing a little more dealing on a '10 model. You need to play your cards a bit, or just be able to walk out the door and go elsewhere. I always wait until the end the year model sales are out, anyone can receive the 5k off MSRP "End of year model sale," that doesn't mean you can't negotiate yet.

If your heart is set on this particular truck, work out some extra incentives for yourself to close the deal. Such as any Mopar accessories (Mopar CAI, leveling kit, fender flares, etc...), extended warranty (Always negotiable).

get more off of shoot for around 10 k off, that is not uncommon right now, and let them know that you will take a plane somewhere to get more off it if you have to.

I was just given $6k in rebates on 11' Big Horn. I traded my 2010 Ram CC BH 4x4 with about 13k on it, the 10 listed for 40230, the 11 listed for 42010 and TD was $4511. The 10 had a $400 dent in the tailgate. I did have to finance with Ally to get an extra $1000 and a had a $750 mailer. The 11 BH has an extra $1500 rebate over the Sport. I thought this was a good deal even though I really didn't need to trade.

Try for a little more. The price on my truck was $39K +. Out the door it was $30,008 and that included the extended warranty.
