Sadly, for what MOPAR wants for the kicker setup, you could build one hellacious system and out thump most of whats on the road today.

Besides, Kicker isn't what they used to be. They used to dominate the market, but now, I would group them with JL and Pioneer in terms of their speakers. Pioneer is still making some great decks though.

Someone smokes too much crack for thinkin they are an audiophile and of the opinion Kicker was EVER a dominating company and better than JL Audio and that Pioneer is rated the same. They sold a few units...but definitely didn't "Dominate". I about fell out of my chair with the Hertz thing too....they are nice but you can do better with Focal for what is needed in a truck. Keep in mind, he wasn't asking for AUDIOPHILE status, just a good upgrade and maintain stock appearance. My 2 pennies for what it's worth.

Well, if you are half the audio nut you claim to be, or at least hint that you are, you would know that sound is based largely upon a person's ear and what sounds best to them at the time. Kicker did indeed used to be on top of things with their products compared to other consumer based brands. Normally, I would get a little offended by the arrogance of your post, but after I read your signature only to see you touting Sony hardware, I simply laugh.

Focal? LOL. wow. What's next, eh? You going to recommend Fosgate to people?

Wow. How long did you have to think about that response....and end up with talking smack about "touting" a Sony navigation unit and then I noticed you are from Springfield, MO. Really, you got me good. You win. I didn't hint to being an "audio nut", although I am QUITE sure I have attended more sound offs, car shows and been sponsored by more major audio brands you can only drool of, but I am a very alert consumer. I simply laugh directly at you regardless of any offense you take Mr. Moderator. I could'nt care lessssssss. Your claims of Kicker fail...but go ahead and support it and knock Focal all you want. Just the fact you even brought up Fosgate makes me chuckle...I assume Kicker is better than Foz too right? Clearly your highly tuned ear doesn't match your out of focus mind.

Maybe you will learn a few things before you get cyber-fu'd again. Don't bother responding, I don't get on here enough to really care about your thoughts. I'm bored by you.

P.S. - I changed my signature just so you could sleep better. Enjoy!

I am a former audio nut.. and i can agree that back in the early 90s.. kickers in the truck ran the show.

18s were rattling trucks for most of that decade.

as with many companies like soundstream, jbl, clarion, rockford and the kenwood/pioneer twins... everything goes in cycles... sometimes they put out great products and sometimes not so great ones. I remember when mb quart was about as clean you could get.

now.. upstarts like hertz and lesser know companys like RE and memphis can in some people ear sound just as god as those jl w12s at a fraction of the cost. Some people want more boom others want a tighter sound.

Quality is subjective.

or you can just get a jackhammer and call it a day
