So you are saying that a 17" rim with a 35" tire weighs more than a 20" rim with a 35" tire? First time I have ever heard someone claim that larger diameter rims result in a lighter wheel tire package. I think if you do a little research that you will find that to be false.

Yep, I ain't ever seen a 17" tire wheel combo weigh more than a 20", unless maybe comparing 17" steelies to 20" aluminum wheels. Also, all other things being equal, the rated towing capacity is greater with 17s compared to 20s.
Almost all of my off-roading is done in either central Florida (about 15%) and south Georgia (about 75%), not far from the Okeefenokee Swamp. A LOT of lowlands and even about half the roads are red Georgia clay. I air down often when hunting (especially hog huntin') and fishing. About the only other place I'm off-road is in extreme north Georgia/east Tenn./western NC area (Smokey Mountains) where I like to camp and trout fish. That's about the only type of off-road where I feel I could get away with 20s and 35" tires.
A lot of people can get by with 20" wheels, and I agree that they look killer, but where I live/where I go/what I do, I feel I need all the sidewall I can get. Hell, I'd have 35s on 15s if they'd clear the calipers. I had 35s on 16s on my second gen Ram and 33s on 15s on my last Wrangler.

You dont count...lol, your 20's look like 17's on that size rubber anyway.
I went with 18's on my 35's and i'll stick with 18's up to a 37. I prefer a 20 on anything larger than a 37...I'm even starting to like the look of a 22x14 with a 40.
Gimme a break, they are not talking about show trucks. You ever attempt to use those 40s, let alone 46's on stock axles and parts will be flying everywhere.

Oh yea? What kinda parts will be flying everywhere? My truck is a 2WD first of all and it's definitely not built for mud with that kind of high end paint job. He asked "Lift Guys" about wheel/tire sizes. I think that qualifies me to answer without someone being a ***** about it. Thanks!
