Default Amsoil Tranny fluid

Gonna be takin the truck for its first oil change in about a week and I was also thinkin about switchin out the trans fluid for amsoil, is it really better than the factory stuff and is it a wise choice to change it? I was told I would need 7 quarts, is this right?

Does it meet the factory spec? And what is the factory stuff not doing that you are trying to improve on?

14.8 quarts is how much a 2wd 545RFE holds. If you just drain the pan it is 5.5 for a 2wd. You need to have a shop use a fluid replacement machine to actually change the fluid. Draining only the pan and refilling with 1/3 SnakesOil isn't a real service.

Shifter linkage prolly stiff. That Amsoil stuff is really slippery.
