Cool Body lift vs suspension lift

I have a question/concern. I have owned Ford and Chevy and have put 6" lifts without any problems. Finally got a what I've always wanted a 09 Ram 1500 4x4 regular cab swb. Wanted to put a mild lift 2" to 3" on it but all I read about lifting 4th gen Rams is negative. I was told that the Death Wobble is only possible on a straight axle truck not one with IFS, but more than several forums list problems with new IFS Rams with the problem??? Anyway since a lift seems questionable and I don't want to go up 6" (still have my chevy) what is wrong with a 2" body kit? Thanks in advance.

Get a suspension lift...go with Superlift. Problem free and my truck runs great. Mopar copied it...if there was any problems they would have never done this.

I have 19 inches of lift on my 09 Ram and haven't had any problems yet.

there has to be different between the models ST, SLT, SPORT cause it seems like the guys that have the trucks with all the bells and whistles are the ones having all the difficulty. could it be possible the ST has a different suspension angle than lets see the sport model? it seems to me that my buddies 10 bighorn sits higher than mine and i've got the bigger engine, what gives..

Less electronic crap = less headache for sure....But the suspensions are all the same. Bigger engine = more weight on the front which = a slightly lower front end due to squatting.

Default Duh!!!

After posting my question, the next day I realized how dumb my question was. I never did a body lift and then remembered why, body lift won't give me the tire clearance! So it looks like a suspension lift, either a 4" or 6" Don't plan on heavy offroading yet, too new, besides thats what I kept my Chevy for. From my research it looks like the 'Death Wobble' problem occurs when someone installs the 2 1/2" lift spacers that sit on top off the strut assy. Everyone that puts on a suspension lift claimed they handled just fine. So just need to see which one is the best bang for the buck. Ride quality is important! I've had too many sore body parts from my Chevy's lift beating me up when I run it. Thanks guys.

Not that I am promoting a body lift, but tire clearance is exactly what it gives you. If you are only looking to gain wheel clearance, and not gain more suspension travel, a body lift is the least expensive way to go, and wont mess with your stock suspension set up.

Ok. Guess you're right. Never did a body lift. I was thinking that without a suspension lift I won't have tire clearance, but I must be having a brain freeze. What the tires rub are the fenders so a body lift would correct that. I'm just having a bad week. Maybe I'll just do a suspension lift and a body lift, then I won't have to decide. 38" would look great on it anyway.
