Default Went to the drag strip last night.

I finally made time to go to the local drag strip and run my 09 Ram Hemi, CC. Only mods are the magnaflow muffler and K&N drop in panel filter. My truck's best time was 15.3 @ 93.4 MPH with a 2.34 60' time. My track is near sea level and we had some good cold/dense air last night at @ 69 degrees. I was pleasantly surprised at my times given the fact that my truck has the 3.21 open rear end set up with 20" wheels. I can tell you guys for sure that we have one of the fastest stock trucks on the market. My wife even got in on the action and made several runs. After it was all said and done I heard my wife say the magic words, "Honey how can we make the Ram go faster?" I could swear I heard jingle bells

If you want it to take off faster you need lower gears and switch to the 17" rims so you are not trying to spin up all that extra weight. Not much you can do that will make a bigger difference.

Nice, really impressive times for a CC with the 3.21's.

As a matter of fact, my wife ran against a modified Chevy silverado extended cab 5.3 05 to 07 model. From the sound of his truck, the owner had several bolt on's, CIA, cam, exhaust etc. He even took off his tail gate and passenger head light ( I guess to let in cold air to his CIA). The wife smoked him off the line with a better reaction and had him by a truck length all the way to the 1/8 mile, but he pulled away at the top end. It was a close race but he won 15.2 @ 95 to her 15.4 @ 92. However, I did see a new Silverado ext. cab run a 14.6 @ 98 MPH, I did not get a close look at his truck but either he had the big 6.2 or it was a 5.3 with bolt on's and heavy tuning. I was parked next to a guy running a low 13 sec Trial Blazer SS and he told me he was impressed with my Ram. He said that my Dodge was much faster than the stock Chevys and Fords he has seen at the track. So good hunting!!

Yep, they are quick. Mine ran 14.8 at 95 mph out of the box.
