Default BullyDog GT /Tuner

Anyone have the BullyDog Triple Dog GT gas/guage/tuner?I purchased this about 2 1/2 months ago,and still haven't installed it yet.I am anxious to see how much of a difference it makes. Also,I am a little worried that it may void my lifetime powertrain warranty.Have their been any issues with warranty claims being denied because of a programmer being installed?

I have been using the superchips and have had it to dealer a few times, once for an MDS reflash, then again to look for any PCM updates before the 36k warranty was up. Now I only have the lifetime powertrain warranty left. Each time, I would flash back to stock a few days prior to dealer, then drive a few drive cycles. I have never had any issues, this starscan system they use did not detect anything. There have been many posts with many opinions, theories etc... but here is mine experience and I have had the tune in for about 18 months now.

I would certainly tune it, heck, we even have a 93 octane custom tune on the wife's Ford Edge from Evolution Performance and use an XCAL 3 as the flash device. Just flash back to stock and put some drive cycles back on it before bringing it in. Tunes are a great mod, 5 minutes and it is tuned or back to stock. No tools, grease etc.. Less explaining or risk than any CAI or exhaust mod that most do not remove before a dealer trip. Sure if you screw up a tune setting and cause damage, good luck explaining. If you over-oil your CAI filter and screw up a sensor, good luck explaining....

I have a few buddies at a different Dodge dealer I am going to use for any future trips and will find out for a fact how they tell. Maybe we have a tech here that could give any facts.

That issue will not come up until you have motor or transmission trouble. Dealers do not waste time looking to see if you had a programmer on your truck unless you damage the motor or trans. I have been told that they can tell if it has been chipped or not. Most people dont have any trouble since the programs that come on a superchips or diablo programmer do not run the motor into dangerous territory. It is a risk that everyone takes and you have to keep in mind that if you do chip your truck and then have motor problems then you better have the money to fix it since your warranty will be gone.
