so how would i go about just removing the reflectors? with out baking them that is. Im pretty good with tools but not in the kitchen and i dont want to take a chance of screwing them up. or do you have to split the headlight ither way? that makes a world of difference!

 

That won't happen! If you want the orange reflector out "YOU WILL HAVE TO BAKE THEM" there is NO OTHER WAY !!

There are tons of threads on "how to" separate the headlights housing. Follow their directions and you'll be fine ! Good Luck !!

 

I'm just waiting on my HIDs to get here so I can do it all at once. I'm really itching to just do it now though...Hmmm

 

So 200* for 15 min..do I need to put a wet fowl on the cookie sheet? Then use a screw driver around the glue seam and split? I think I am going to tackle it today.

 

If you're handy with a heat gun, you can do it that way.

I would also wait and do everything at once and seal it back up with butyl tape... You'll never have to worry about a leak again if you use that... Never get them apart again either though.

 

210-220, anywhere from 12-15 minutes will do. You have to work fast, so yes, have all tools, and heat resistant gloves ready when removing from oven. I've done well over a couple dozen vehicles over the last year, and baking them is the absolute way to go. Make sure you have something to wedge the assembly apart (such as wooden shims) as you go, so is doesn't reseal itself.

 

That was a pain in the ***. Finished it though. Also just ordered a set of chrome signal bulbs that light up amber to clean it up even more. I just wish my HIDs were here so I could have done it all at once. Here is a crappy pic till tomorrow.
