European Fuel??
Hi,
I think I could be one of the only one's here with a RAM 1500 ST 5.7 Hemi Quad living in Germany available here we have 95 Octane Fuel Saver, 95 Super, 100 Ultimate. Which should I use?

Standard Unleaded fuel in America comes in 87,89,91, or 93 octane. Assuming The "octane" is considered the same for America as it is for Germany, than I would say the basic 95 octane would be more than sufficient.
I believe germany`s "95super" is close to the same as our "89 octane" (non ethanol) in the usa.
Thats what a friend of mine told me that lives in germany anyway, but i could be wrong.
I would be running the german midgrade regardless, if it were me (95 Super)

The thing I forgot to mention is that my ENCS car dealer said that when the RAM went in for its European conversion he said the engine managemenyt had to be re-programmed to take the Euro fuel?!? Thanks anyway, I had noticed a slight difference on the Freeway (Autobahn/Motorway) That when I'm doing around 50 mph, I then nail it, I get more of a drop down on 100 Octane than the 95 Octane.
I used to live in Germany back in my pre-Ram days. German gas stations usually display the "Research Octane Number" (RON) while gas stations in the US usually display the "Anti-Knock Index" (AKI) number as the octane rating. A 95 RON rating in Germany is about equivalent to a 90-91 AKI rating in the US. So, as someone else already suggested - I'd run with the 95 over there. Not sure of the differences between the two different 95 octane fuels you mentioned - probably something to do with additive packages/cleansers.
More info on octane ratings and how they are calculated is here:

The yellow label usually says "(R+M)/2 Method"
edit: Guess I should have done some reading on the AKI before I put my foot in my mouth.... Looks like AKI is the same as the average of RON and MON! Who woulda thought that. I spouted off the above from memory, not even knowing what AKI meant. My apologies.

I was quite sure its in Octane rather than RON here, I'll check next time I fill up.
I live in Bielefeld in the mid north between Hanover and Dortmund. I've been to Graf twice now once in 96 or 97 and now this year or should I say this yr Apr 2010, love the camp lots of Brits travel the 600+ mile round trip just for the shopping!
PS I hand washed her today I thought I needed to get all that salt off her as we've been snowed in for the last 4 weeks, it's illegal to wash your car on the street, my ans would be its also illegal to do 51 kph in a 50 zone!
