Comp Cams XFI 5.7L 6.1L Hemi Camshaft 268H
hey guys anyone have this cam in there 5.7L hemi???
if so wut tuning is required im wanting to try it out.
any big torque gains??

 

I've seen some peeps with this cam on other forums if you can't find anyone here. BTW...Moes has the same cams a bit cheaper for 355 right now. Also, make sure that you do your homework on what all you need with this install as far as a kit is concerned...like lifters, springs and pushrods. And what ever you do, DO NOT use the stock lifters with any of the XFI cams and follow the CC recommendations and guidelines. If you're running 3.92 gears that seems to be a good choice between the three from what I've read. I think you'd be better off with 4.10 gears if you choose to use the 273 XFI to make up for the loss of low end power. I think the 260 is the only one they don't recommend added spring pressure or different pushrods but I still wouldn't chance it...especially with these funky lifters in the 5.7

 

HEY THANKS FOR THE INFO. n yeah i have the 3.92 gears. n i am putting 37's on. just trying to get sum ideas on wut to do to get sum serious tourque out out of this hemi so i can push these tires good. n been thinking of going with Yukon 4.56 gears btw.

 

ABSOLUTELY go 4.10 or 4.56 gearing if you`re gonna go bigger on tire diameter, otherwise, those cams are totally useless with huge tires and stock gears. (just my opinion, 4.56 would be MY choice)

I don't know how your cash flow is but if you want to have some real fun, try to get all of ur money together for the cam, 456 gears (good call Hemi5150), and 37" tires on hand at once. Then with the cam and gears installed, I would play with it for a day or two before putting the new tires on, lol! You won't have much freeway capability but you could darn sure rip up some quick launches to 1/4 mile runs. Second, you get to experience between the two gears and tire sizes and get a first hand feel of the pros and cons...you'll be happy you did! They'll seem a little low at first, but I promise they'll feel just right when you put your 37's on.
