Truck won't pass emission inspections, WTF?
so, i took my 2010 dodge ram in for an inspection this week and for some reason it will not pass inspection for the emissions testing. Dealer is telling me that the sensors need to reset, and I need to drive it around before they can try it again... well, I drove it around, took it back in and still nothing.
I have not done anything to the exhaust, but I do have the following mods:
1. LockPick v3
2. 2" mopar level kit
3. Rear airbag kit with in-cab controls for aircompressor
4. Mopar CAI
and that's about it. Dealer told me that the only time they've seen this happen is when a battery goes dead or if there's a check engine light on, neither of which have happened to me.
The only thing I can think that would be messing with the emissions censors is the lockpick module. Has anyone else ever experienced this? how did you correct it? Thoroughly frustrated b/c my stickers are up and I don't want to get pulled over. HELP!

Did your air sensor on the intake tube get damage, or not hook up. As that would be cause of a emissions failure.

In Maryland by the law yes. It's a law which really isn't enforced that much, but they can and sometimes do really screw with you. I had a hell of a time getting my S10 pickup which has a V8 swapped into it registered because well it has a V8. I had to do a bunch of things to prove the emissions worked etc etc. Take a read up on this. I had to do alot of reading and studying to figure out what was and wasn't acceptable because of my S10. BTW the max noise a vehicle can emit at anytime is 80 dbA from the factory, which here is a chart to give you an idea of just how quiet it is supposed to be http://www.garlic.com/~pburnett/noise.htm Here are the sections of the laws which they check on when you inspect the vehicle in Maryland. For all you diesel boys who like to turn em up and smoke em out section 22-402 is particulary harsh http://www.michie.com/maryland_print....0#JD_tr22-402 . I can't find the section in the law book but you can not equip a vehicle in Maryland with a dual exhaust system if it was not installed from the factory that way. Also you can not increase the sound level above the manufactures levels. This is noted in Section 22-609 but that entire 22-600 section is pretty harsh if you like to hot rod stuff http://www.michie.com/maryland_print...hapter.htm&2.0
So point here is that each state is different, but alot of states have similar laws on the books. Yes the laws are not enforced much, but where the laws are on the books the police can definately hem you up if a cop feels the need to. Speaking of exhaust I'm looking for something in the parts wanted ads guys because I need help with mine getting it through inspection here in MD. Read up and you'll get the idea.
Also wanted to mention that a Cold air kit which removes the airbox silencer technically is illegal in MD because of 22-609 LOL. Again may not be enforced but reference above. Know what you're dealing with in the state you're in at that moment if you get pulled and hassled by a cop about something. Cop won't care what your laws are where you're from you're on his turf.
