Default Want head rest dvds for rear

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 laramie crew and want to put dvd players in the rear for the kids. What options do I have? I called the dealer and they said it was like 2 grand but had no rear information.

Is there something plug and play? Will it work with my factory head unit?
What about diy into the factory headrests?

Thanks

I went to sears and got a dual set for 149 they strap around the headrest and they have a single plug into to the 12v plug. Mush cheaper and you can hide them under the seat so some jackwad doesnt try to break in your truck and steal them. My wife keeps one screen in her car and i keep one in mine so we dont have to get them out all the time. let me know if you want to see pics.

I'm adding screens and a DVD player to my factory headrests. Gonna cost about $300. I'm not paying $1500+ to have em. I did this to my last truck and they looked and worked great.

I did a simlar purchase a few years back. I will never do it again. within a year both screens went dead and when I tried to get them fixed the company gave me absolutley no help. Not only that they get kicked around under the seat, which is what probably led to the screens not working.

At $600 per IPAD then $200 for the mounts and about $200 for the headphones your up to $1600. You could have the factory unit for that price. Plus I have tried those headrest mounting plates before and they bounce all around and it is hard for the kids to watch the movie. The best system we ever had was a factory headliner mounted system in our Pacifica. I would think having them mounted in the headrest would be fine as well. You get what you pay for with vehicle electronics.

I found the OEM Mopar DVD Headrests brand new on Ebay - $600
I agree, I wasnt going to pay the $1500+ either
I had been looking for a month or two, I was looking into all sorts of aftermarket ones and looked on ebay one day and, BAM, matched my interior and everything! and it was basically what I would have paid for a decent aftermarket set with headphones and everything.

Keep looking on ebay!

Thanks for the ideas. I have a set that I got at the local super store for about $125
but the wires are all over the place and they don't blend into the interior at all.
I will just keep looking at ebay I guess.
Thanks again
