Default Have to sell. Need help on price.

I'm sorry to say that I have to sell my truck. 2009 Ram 1500 Sport. Color match grill, 4" Mopar lift, Nitto Trail Grapplers 70%, Mopar sliding tool box, Bakflip HD bed cover, shaved emblems, tinted windows. No body damage, no problems at all. Don't want to get rid of this truck just not big enough for what I'm needing to do. Dealer doesn't want to work with me on anything to do with the accessories and I'm needing some oppinions on what to ask for this truck.

Thanks for any help!

mileage? depending on the mileage I would think you could ask mid to higher mid 20's. the dealer will never give you anything for accessories, however someone who can appreciate them, like me and all the guys on here, would be willing to pay a little something for them.

Right now 2011 models are going for $11K off MSRP. Take 2 years off for depreciation - my guess is $10k. So take the equivalent truck to yours but a 2011 model and take $21K off MSRP and you're pretty close to the street price.

Check craigslist and autotrader in you area. Thats should give you a fair pricing. If you see a truck similar to your but stock sell for 23000 then you can logically think you could get 25+ because of your accessories

dealership where i work just took in an '09 laramie crew cab 4x4 from some idiot who panicked when gas hit 3 bucks a gallon here and wanted to trade on a new nitro. truck has something like 30 thousand miles on it and they gave him $14,400 for it. the jerk owed like $24,000 on it still so now he's upside down like 10 grand on his nitro. he coulda filled his truck up with gas for two years on what he overpaid for the nitro.

so if that gives you some idea dealers are offering under $15,000. i think they are gonna list it at somewhere in the $25,000 range and probably take around $20,000 for it. they are selling brand new 2011 trucks with $42,000 stickers for $28,000 every day but some schmuck will come in and probably pay them the full $25,000 asking price for the used '09 thinking he saved almost $20,000 off new.

the sales manager has a saying that there's an *** for every seat and from what i've seen he's right.

Mileage is 56000, which is a little high. Options include leather buckets, sunroof, heated and cooled seat, heated steering wheel, all the option less the navi, and backup camera which wasn't an option when i purchased this new. Dealer offered me 22000 which i thing seems low.
Thanks for all the input.

I dunno, I actually think that's a decent offer from a dealer. Last used '09 I saw at my local dealer around here was a pretty well loaded 4x4, mainly stock but with only about 25k miles on it and they were asking $24,995 for it. So for them to give $22,000 would be pretty good.

I would imagine the mileage is gonna hurt a bit. I only have 48,000 miles on my '04 and I'm seeing a lot of 3rd Gens from '07 and '08 around here with under 30k miles on them for sale for under $20k.

Obviously though, you'd do better selling outright, especially with the after-market accessories you have listed...

Trade depends on what you are buying, if you are buying the new car or truck at invoice less rebates you arent going to get much for the trade. If you are paying sticker then you will get what seems like a lot for your trade.

Also when you trade, depending on the state, you save on sales tax. For me to sell outright I have to get another 8% right off the bat to make up for the tax savings, dealers arent dumb and know this.

FWIW I was going to trade my 2010 Laramie crew cab 4x4 in a couple months ago (12K miles) and the best I got when buying the new car at a decent deal was 26K. I would have to sell it for 28+ outright and thats tough with what they are selling new ones for not much more these days. These are really nice trucks, but they are sold way under MSRP (I paid 10K under MSRP new) so resale is next to nothing on them.
