Well, most guys said it was a combination of their springs being too soft and acceleration. They blamed it more on the brand. If you looked through guys pics, rough country was known for saggy springs. Rubicon Express, Old Man Emu, Superlift, and some others did not sag ever with extreme wheeling. It was always the rear springs too. I don't know if they ever corrected this as I've been out of the lift world for a few years. Just got to be a headache.

FWIW, the Rough Country 4" suspension lift doesn't change out stock springs, so there's no concern about springs sagging.

Also, somebody earlier mentioned the SC Tuners as only having canned tunes... not even close! You can do a lot of customization with an SC tuner if you select the "advanced" tunes as opposed to "stock" tunes.

My experience with the CAI (I have one on my GF's Jeep too) is that you won't see any of the mythical mileage improvements they promise, but it does sound better, and in both vehicles they're a bit "peppier" when you step on the pedal.

Gary C, where you at in upstate NY? I'm at Ft. Drum. Anywhere close? I do see that you still use the factory springs. The kit looks pretty good to me, but I think I mentioned earlier that I've read good and bad reviews on it. Then again, I can't think of many products where I haven't read the good and bad. I guess it's just all about luck. You either get the good product or you don't. How long am I looking at for installation? Did you install yourself or have someone do it?

I'm near Saratoga, about 3 hours south of you. I did a lot of research into the lift and the tires and like you said, the opinions run the gamut from one end of the spectrum to the other... ultimately you make your best choice based on what you find and what you believe. I personally haven't been disappointed yet, but to each his own. I wanted to make sure I didn't have any warranty problems, and I'm fortunate to have a great dealership (Goldstein's in Latham) so I asked them to do the install... turns out my service advisor is tight with the guy that owns Rock Krawler/Pure Performance, so he asked them to do it. They did it in one evening, including swapping the TPMS sensors and having the new tires mounted and balanced.

Like I said, it's not a top of the line kit but I'm extremely pleased with it.

Yes SC offers some extra options under that tab, but when you place the vehicle in drive or any other gear besides park, the tune will go modify back to it's parameters and not save the changes you made. Also, if you pay the extra $40.00 I think it is, you'll get the transmission tuning options, but that's about it.

from the jeep world also, its just not a top of the line lift. i also have been told that this is the lift that is rebadged as a "mopar" lift. interesting question as to the cause of the spring sag due to wheeling off road, i would have to say that may be part of it, but other lifts do not have this problem, so i think it is indicative of the quality of this company's quality.

Here is a new question...due to the fact that the RC 4" that Gary C. put on his truck does NOT come with springs, would that not mean that the factory springs are going to sag regardless of whether or not you install the lift? I mean if you are still using the factory springs, it should have nothing to do with the lift, and everything to do with whether or not Chrysler installed a quality spring. Unless of course the use of the lift causes premature sag on them...any ideas?

Sorry Gary C., didn't mean to dime you out like that. Makes it sound like you are the only one to ever use this lift, and I'm sure that isn't the case. Maybe I should have said "that Gary C. AND OTHERS put on their trucks..."

I have an SC and I've never had this happen to me... any changes I make in advanced tuning stay made. Sounds like you got a bad tuner to me.

Now you're questioning whether OEM springs will sag? Dude, I really think you're starting to overthink this more than a little... if you're so hesitant about a lift kit that you're looking for someone to validate every conceivable outcome to the point where you're questioning the quality of the OEM components you're better sticking with a stock rig. Unless you can afford a top of the line kit I doubt you'll be happy.
