Default Another lift/leveling question + pics of carputer install:

My exact truck is as per my signature. A few side notes: I jacked the HELL outta my front bumper and I've since replaced it with a chrome bumper and it looks SWEEEEET (Pic below)!! I've also added factory Mopar tow hooks which I use ALL THE TIME up at my lakehouse moving things around and doing things.

I've also installed a PDRC (permanent display, removable computer) (Not that I ever remove the computer either lol) in my truck so that I have 40GB worth of music at my fingertips. You can see pics here: http://toughbooktalk.com/public_down...VDL01%20Mount/ )

The suspension is as follows: 8.75" of travel to the top of the tires x 5.25" to the top of the tires in the front. With that being said, does that mean I need 3.5" leveler kit for just the front? (The difference of the two).

I found the kits below for around $70 (which fits my budget), but couldn't find a 3.5" kit...:

2" http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2009-...Q5fAccessories

2.5" http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...Q5fAccessories

3" http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-07...Q5fAccessories

Thought's/opinions on what I should buy here? Also, should I take it to a tire place to have the 2 front tires re-aligned after lifting?

Thanks

Three inches seems like a lot for the front. I've never seen a leveling spacer over 2.5 inches. I don't know what your budget is, but if you want 3.5 inches of lift, go for the four inch lift kit. However, that's a lot more money.

This is what the auction says about the 2" lift:

ue to the independent suspension these lift is not 1:1 ratio. The 2" lift kit actually measures in 1.25". The combination of the lift of the strut + the steeper angle that gives the total 2" lift.

Would 2" be right or should I go for 2.5" or 3"?

Thanks

I'd be very leary of that 3" spacer lift due to the EXTREME CV shaft angles. There are a whole lot of people that are having bad vibes while in 4WD after a 2" kit. You should do a bit more research before you have it installed, and probably return it for a 2-2.5".

Measure your truck on flat ground, through the middle of the hub, at the center of the front and rear fender lips. Take the difference between the two and go with the closest one. And I'd almost bet that the 3" won't be the one you need.

This is EXACTLY what I did and the difference was exactly 3.5" from back to front on my level garage floor...

If the 3" is too much I'll just take em out as this is only setting me back $140 total. ($70 for parts + $70 for alignment)

Thanks

Okay here we are. I got the 3" lift installed (well my father did it because he's an expert at these things). I'm going to get the alignment done tomorrow at noon. Pics attached. What do you all think? I think it looks sick!

Okay, so the alignment was done yesterday and the guy that did it said it wasn't a whole heck of a lot outta wack. He aligned it and I left. I then took it up to 50 mph in 4x4 high whilst driving back to work and have NO PROBLEMS with vibrations... Feels the SAME as before I put the 3" lift on.

Thanks
