Limited Slip?
The Traction Control settings will actually work like the "lunchbox / poorman's LSD" described above - because it does apply minute-to-major amounts of individual brake to the freely spinning wheel which does cause (or attempt to cause) the open diff to divert power to the less slipping wheel. It sounds like the OP saw this in action.
I DO have the 3.92 LSD, and given good throttle the Hemi can do the same in snow - triggering the same TC intervention. But, so far overall it has worked better than other open diff trucks I've driven.
