Default Recon Projectors

My headlight preformance really s**ks,, and I was thinking of buying a pair of the Recon's. I've been reading the threads on these headlights and it seems that all the rage is on how they look. I agree, they look great and with a substantial price tag I might add, but,, does the preformance match the price tag, or, are these lights just for looks?? How do they compair to HID's for preformance???
Thanks

you could always get the headlights for the looks and then toss some hid's in for their performance

I don't have them myself, so no experience, but I have heard good and bad.

The biggest complaint about them is the quality seems fairly low - problems with cheap plastic, fogging, etc. - especially for the price.

So people seem to really like the look, however. And I've heard that HID's work very well in them.

Just MHO, I wouldn't get them until either A) the price comes WAY down, or B) their manufacturing process improves. Or maybe until their manufacturing plant moves out of China.

Those are pretty sick headlights Talon_66. Hey nucklehead i have recon led lights all around including the projector headlights and i like them they look good. I first bought them with the xenon bulbs that recon sell, low beams (projector) were really ****ty, u basically need HID for the projector which is what they were meant to be for anyways, big difference not even comparable. The highbeams i have the diamond white xenon not worth putting HID for those they are bright better than stock. Hopefully that helps your decision.

I see your from Canada, I went to my local speed shop looking for recons and they said that the recons were a good product but the halos keep burning out in them due to the cold weather? Are you have any problem with yours?

I haven't had any problems with them so far, but im aware that they will eventually go and you cant just replace a bulb type of deal. ive had them for 3 months but had some -40 Celcuis weather. So my plan is to contact recon when they do and see what they say, but im expecting a too bad so sad answer. Ill just cut the power to the halos whenever that happens then it doesnt look stupid. I already changed 4 leds though, they are easy to change and recon gives you 4 spare when you buy them, so im just hoping that they were just defective bulbs. but whatever i can unplug those when i get sick of changing them, might wanna look on this forum about spyder its the same lights just not recon. But i did notice on the lights it says recon where the serial numbers are so i know theyre recons anyways. They are sharp looking lights everybody looks at me like im from space.
