Rotating Tires
For years, until years caught up to me, I have always done this myself.
Monday, I took my '09 1500 in for a front end alignment. I also asked them to rotate the tires.
This place of business has been around for years and has a very top line reputation.
Today, I wasn't that busy so I got out my almost new torque wench and went over the lug nuts.
It looked like they used an air wench on the lug nuts and forgot to torque them. I am disappointed.

I've come to accept this as standard procedure at any shop. Last time I had tires put on a car I gave the tech the torque spec and asked as nice as I knew how to torque them properly. As I watched from a distance he ran them all on over-tight with an impact wrench then proceeded to go over each one with a torque wrench.....wow, I just gave up trying after that.

Years ago I had a Chrysler Concorde and brought it to the stealership to have a rusted brake line replaced. I ordered a one piece line from the dealer parts counter and waited a week for it to arrive. They installed the line under the transmission because it was a pain to put it back along the firewall over the tranny. I had to take a double look when I first inspected it and couldn't believe my eyes. It was literally inches from the ground and needless to say the service manager got chewed out and I had them replace it properly. I never returned and I always inspect any work no matter where it was done. The only way you know it was done right is to do it yourself..
