Default Rearview Camera

Have a few questions and looking for ideas. I pickedup a MYGIG REN from ebay ($300)works great and now I want the rearview Camera. I really like hte factory setup to view on this radio howver $299 is more than I want to spend.

It looks great in the TG handle.

Anyone done anything else similar to view on the REN radio?

I installed the factory backup camera last Friday. It was pretty easy to install and took me a couple of hours. The dealership wanted around $225 for the install. I have to take it in and have them use the scan tool to activate the camera. It will cost about $45. It looks really nice in the tailgate handle. I bought mine from this website: https://www.dodgeparts.com/product_i...74a7a06704fa3d

It costs around $269, plus shipping.

They should work on most with touch screens or Navigation screens.

It should work as long as the radio is back up camera compatible. I just had my activated today and I hooked everything up right, it works with no problems. It will be nice hooking the boat up this summer, it is definitely a nice addition.

I used the ALLGIG with AV Harness. Bought an AOVISION HTC35 camera from Walmart online for $25.

All together I bought Used allGIG for $150, AV Harness $64 and camera $25.

I know this is approaching the cost of factory camra however with all gig and harness I also gained, video in motion, nav entry in motion, DVD out and aux in.

Dash is really simple to take aprt. I bought a set of trim tools at Harbor freight for $7 that really helped. takes me less than 5 mins to have console apart, Dash around radio completely removed and radio out.

The Pic from the camera is amazing, color,IR, grid distance lines, wide angle etc. I did have to drill a 1 1/8 hole in tailgate handle (again harbour freight step drill for $7)

Running cable was the same effort as the factory unit and all RCA plugs. The camera came with a 16 ft cabnle and I used a 6ft extension from radio shack to reach all the way.

any questions on this setup feel free to ask. I am totally pleased with the results
