Check This Rust!!!!!!
LMAO, typical moron dealership answer.
I had rail dust all over my '06 Charger when I bought it new, probably took me all summer on and off slowly cleaning it up with clay-bar. I still find some now and then too. My '08 Ford Explorer is silver, and this staining shows every year in the clear coat, mostly because of brake dust, so every spring out comes my trusty Flex buffer, clay-bar, polishes, and a coat of wax. Good times, lol!
Wow I just got a new set of 20 chrome clads, well they should be here under warranty and not even from the dealership i bought the truck. I bring it to this dealer for oil, washing everything and they have been washing it all winter and didn't care to point out the rims are peeling....so I made them aware. New ones under warranty. They tried spraying some stuff on them and said they are 90 percent I said well they were 100 percent when I bought them.
Why don't the dealers clean the rail dust off before the vehicles are sold? Rail dust should be their responsibility not the buyer's.
Our 09 Ram has bumper rust and chrome clad wheel corrosion that is not rail dust. I contacted Chrysler Service again and I am suppose to take the truck back in again for more pictures. It just turned up 12K miles and has over a year of warranty remaining.

Rail dust usually shows up really quick. Hours and a few days not months. Are not the vehicles coming in enclosed in a plastic outer covering? Whats on the truck if it is on the top of the paint could be from any metal source including road grim. See if its on top of the paint and clay bar it off. If its UNDER the paint then visit the service manager and talk repair.
