Default side mirror replacement

yesterday in the rain and wind i couldn't avoid a street sign that had fallen into the road. anyway my left side mirror was damaged along with a scratch that runs from headlight to taillight buffable im praying. My question is i have the black power and heated mirror no signal if i want to upgrade to the black power heated with turn signal will it work or do i have to have the truck programmed to read that it has turn signals now

I thought all the power mirrors especially the heated ones had the puddle lights is that what you mean? I have my mirror replaced due to faulty heater element and some module, anyway I bet the wiring is in there it would be more money to have an extra wire harness that just omit the leds on the mirror. JMHO from working at Chrysler for 13 years on the line or in repair and another 3 or 4 before I became paralyzed. If not required the wiring is or will just be taped away, most often all is taped and you just used what you need and leave the rest taped.

i was able to research alittle and this is what i found out. my truck has defrost and power no puddle/turn signal. i dont know if the truck is prewired for the extra puddle/turn signal. i want to upgrade to the mirror that has the puddle/turn signal guys say that the harness is tucked in the door so its there but you have to take it to the dealer so that the truck can reconize that it has the new feature. everything costs a dollar at the dealer we can't do anything to these trucks without the help of the freakin dealer, sucks.

You just need the dealer to turn on the option. The trucks are all prewired for it. I never bothered having the lights turned on, only reason I swapped the mirrors was to get the big flip up tow mirrors.
