My Year in Review
Picked up my Ram 4x4 Laramie Crew 1 year ago today here is my review:
Mileage: 35935
Hours: 1011
Gas Mileage: (all hand calculated) Avg. 16.36, High 18.8, Low 13.9 Always use 89 octane. (3:55 rear end)
Goodyear tires still have plenty of tread left (rotated every 5k miles)
Use Mobil 1 5-20 with Mopar filter, change every 5k miles
I replaced the NGK plugs at 30k miles, took me about 90 minutes
Mods: Mud Flaps, Chrome Step Bars, Bed Rug, Century Cap. May get a CAI in the future, just for the heck of it, I know it does not do much, but I like how it sounded on my Magnums.
Problems:
I use my truck for work everyday and really enjoy driving it. I have taken it on two trips to the mid-west and was very comfortable the entire trip despite being in the seat for 13 hours straight.
In the end would I buy another, yes I would.

Problems:
- I have the tin can rattle that many have talked about at 1500-1700 rpm in overdrive, and it gets worse if I am going up a slight incline.
- At 40 mph if in overdrive and punch it, sometimes it will shutter before down shifting. It goes into third, then two prime. I guess they are working on some type of software fix this. They did re-flash my PCM and that helped a little.

Thanks for the review. I drive about 12k miles a year, and my truck just hit 600 miles. Hopefully mine is as trouble free as yours for my 1st 30k , and it would be nice with no problems for the final 30k that I own it.

Good review.
I will go over a year next month and so far no issues at all. However, I just sliced my finger open on the rear seat hinge brackets that stick up a little when the back seats are folded down and the other doohickies fold out to give you a flat surface. Watch out, those little buggers are sharp, I need to take a file to them. Back on topic, I really like driving the truck, glad I bought it. Oh, and just turned about 6,500 miles on it, mostly mountain miles on it.
Good thread. I have just gone over 2 years with mine. I have the same mileage. A little over 35K on the odo.
With the exception of the water in the puddle lights, bed rails warping, tailgate cap coming off a few times, and having to put on a new set of Michelin tires, my truck has run flawlessly. I get about 16 in town 18-19 on the highway. I did hit some 20-ish MPG on a few flat highway runs. Mostly hilly/mountains up here in NH. I never got the frozen shifter during the winter. Then again I didn't get much of the slushy crap on the roads either.
All in all it has been a great truck and though the model is two years old now the truck still get looks....
I'd buy another one, but I have my eyes set on a new 3500 Cummings dumpy for doing some work and snow plowing.
