I'm looking at trading my 09 Laramie for a 11 Laramie. I have a two tone with color matched fender flares. The new 2011 is a monotone without fender flares. I'm wondering if anyone know a online dealer that paints and clear-coats flares?
I was quoted yesterday from a local shop $475 to paint and clear-coat a set of flares. I thought that was a little high, maybe not??? Any help would be appreciated.
$475 sounds a little too steep. Have you put any thought to painting them yourself, its a lot cheaper, with a bit of love and care, you'll achieve the look you want.
I bought these flares on ebay and painted them in my garage. I used Sherwin Williams automotive basecoat/clearcoat. if you don't have the equipment, you can get dupli-color base coat , clearcoat, and even etching primer from pep boys. You can do it at home for probably under $100.00 for all your supplies.

Not too bad. Looks pretty good. I'm guessing you have a spray gun? Most people don't have one of those, so I'm not sure how well spray paint from a can will work. I know very little about body work and painting, but it doesn't seem like you would get the same results as you would having it professionally done. You'd have to find a matching paint and then I'd be worried about peeling and chipping.
You can get a pretty good spray gun for fairly cheap these days. they are worth their weight in gold when it comes to little jobs like this that would otherwise leave you penny-less.

Yeah I suppose it would be good for some things. I don't know what else I would paint on my truck other than fender flares or maybe the rain guards like the other guy said. I wouldn't try to do any real body painting so I'm not sure it would benefit me much. I guess it depends on how much they cost.
