Default programmer question

so i got a buddy with a f150 and he wants more power and stuff out of his truck (he should buy a hemi). i know thats the obvious answer but he is also kind of cheap so he wont spend the money on a superchips or diablo etc type programmer. he wants to buy those so called performance chips that plug into your air sensor. im pretty sure tho things are bogus and they are just a resistor that tricks your trucks computer but i really dont know for sure. here is the site he was looking at http://www.GFChips.com/fordf150.aspx would it work and how good/bad is it for somebodys engine. thanks.

I don't know that sounds pretty bogus to me, you would think everybody would have one by now for the price they go for. Just from the layout of the site i would stay away, but maybe those just came out. All i know is I don't know nothing about it.

Stay far away. Tell your friend to buy a real programmer.
