cab and bed do not line up

You might try loosening those mounting bolts, and see if you can shift it around to suit you. You will need a few friends to help do this, but it ain't hard.

Do lots of measuring from the same points on both sides of the truck.

without measuring, mine is perfectly centered, but is a little smaller than the cab. wonder if this is airodynamics or just out of spec.

I can't believe these beds are out of spec. With all the advanced laser technology they can get tolerences incredibally close - if they want to. Even just building them on a jig, like they all do, wouldn't lead to what's being reported. Interesting topic. Wish there was some insight from someone with knowledge of how they are actually built.
