Default Current Sirius Rates

My free period is up April 21st. Just received this renewal info in the mail:

SIRIUS EVERYTHING Package TOTAL COSTS

Monthly..................................$16.30

Quarterly................................$48.91

1 Year (1 month free)..............$179.33

2 Year (3 months free).............$342.36

3 Year (5 months free).............$505.39

I plan on playing the waiting game and see if I can get a better offer after it lapses. It may be nice to have but not at these prices. I might do it if I could hook a portable player up on the same plan but it just isn't worth it for the truck alone.

If you call, you will get a better rate. I got the same card in the mail and also checked their website so I called and asked for any specials and told them I was listening to Pandora radio through my cell plugged into the aux port and would do a year if they had a better rate. I got it for about 90 bucks, not sure if it is the everything package since I only use it for radio in the truck.

Yes. Wait. The prices will drop the longer you wait.
If they get you n the phone just let them know it is too expensive but you would do it for $whatever your price is in your head. Make them and offer. Believe me they want your money. Something is better than nothing. I got two years for the price of one.

Let your subscription run out and wait a few weeks. I did that, and they I was getting tons of mail about how they want me to come back to sirius. I finally reactivated mine for about $60, and since my wifes car is also on my account they gave me about a $15 refund off of hers also. It sucks waiting, because I love listening to my sirius, but it was well worth the wait.

Turn your truck off... Cancel the subscription. Leave it off for a few weeks, then enjoy the free service!

I've been running a radio in my garage for the last 3 years with no sub on it. I justify it by knowing that I'm still paying for my second radio in my truck and I only ever listened to one at a time.

Great information here, I would have just hopped on the website and ordered without looking for a deal. Thanks!

They're offering me $77 a year right now. But I double downed on them and got a extra six months free. I'll be due in September.

if you plan on having the truck for awhile, definitely look into a lifetime sub, i believe you have to call to get it. im not positive on the US pricing but i believe its around $450-$500 range.

Yeah, I did this too in my Ram, for about 9 months after the subscription lapsed. The problem though was that I had always left the Sirius on one station and never changed it (I only drive my truck about two days a month). Then, I went on a road trip and changed the station - and they IMMEDIATELY cut off my "free" Sirius. Like, within 30 seconds of changing the station. I don't know if they "noticed" that I was still using it for free when I changed the station, or if it was total coincidence - but I know that mine's not free anymore.

I'm thinking you likely just got unlucky. The Sirrius system cannot tell who is listening to them, or on what channel they are on.

I would have to assume however that they cycle through canceled units once every so often hoping to catch them as they've caught you. Like I said though, I'm on 3 years of use and never had a problem. I don't run the garage radio all that often though, and it's turned off when it's not in use so.

I also frequently change channels so that doesn't seem to come into the equation.
