I believe that Ecoboost will suck the fuel when towing. Turbos would have to be spooled to pull and they like the gas when you spool them boys up.

Dude i had an 04 F-150 and then i bought my 09 sport. The difference is night and day would never go back in my opinion. Haven't driven and 11 ford yet but wouldn't want to. I haven't had any problems except for minor recalls and a torn seat-prob my fault. Engine is rediculous and i love the manual towing shifter(sure there is a better name for it). When climbing up the mountains here in CO i completely control the situation by gearing down with the shifter. ONLY thing i don't like is the expensive tune ups, but if you want a bad @ss truck this is it!

I can't really offer any advice on the Ford. I've never owned a Ford, nor do I ever plan to. But I can tell you that I have an 09 1500 QC with around 30,000 miles and I've had no serious issues. Only thing that ever happened was a problem with my 4x4 control module. Dealership reset it and it's been fine ever since. That was probably around 5,000 miles ago. I don't do any major towing, but I haul my wheeler around in the bed sometimes and I don't even notice it back there. The truck just rides nice. I have the HEMI so I have plenty of power. I really doubt you'll be disappointed if you buy one.

Keep one thing in mind, this is a forum dedicated to RAM trucks. You are reading about problems daily, as the members are going to post about them looking for advise, or to simply see if anyone else is having/had the same issue, and what they did about it.

Since we represent such a small percentage of RAM owners, you can't really judge the vehicle as a whole based on what you read here. We do post about the bad, pretty well every time. But, we don't post daily "nothing wrong yet" or "no problems here" as they would just be pointless threads.

Drive both, and let whichever one you like best be the deciding factor.

Before I bought in 2009 I investigated the big three gas trucks. I read every forum I could fine. All in all I found the Dodge truck line up to actually be the least issues. Now you have to take into account Dodge trucks are also the lowest amount numbers wise on he road. Ford and GM sell more.

I just bought a new Ram on Friday and had the same question. I owned a 2006 Ford F-250 with a powerstroke and 71,000 trouble free miles so I was pretty set on buying a 2011 Ford F-150. After driving on of the Eco-Boost trucks I really thought I was going to make a deal but they just want way too much money for them.

I swore off Dodge about 10 years ago from a bad experience I had with my Avenger but after looking at the Ram and seeing the improvements they have made in "quality" I was sold.

I would drive both and see what you like and then compare numbers. It came down to the quality of the interior and the significant cost savings for me. I would have spent at least $10k more for a similiarly loaded Ford F-150.

Us with no problems don't need to complain about problems and I promise, we out number the problem posts by alot.

over 2 years in my laramie and my biggest problems:
door stay ribs too small - fixed on 2010's
phone bluetooth button on wrong side of radio - fixed on 2011's
headlights suck - many fixes depending on what you want
i'm not brand loyal, last three trucks, suvs - GMC, Lexus, Nissan, Ford. i buy good products that are cost efficient.
You probably already know this, but the manufactures place trolls in these forums b/c they know people use them for due-diligence purposes. i have found if you take out the top and bottom 5% of the overall comments you get a relatively decent cross section from actual customers.
good luck

I had a 05 F-150 and now the Ram. No issues with either one. I do think the ram looks much better, despite hating its looks initially.
