Ok I just ordered the 14" mufflex kit. I'm excited that I don't have to replace my factory dual exhaust. I'm also going to have my DMH exhaust cutout put before the muffler can't wait :-). Should sound great!

So if some one buys a mufflex muffler single into two they still have to get pipes run out the rear? Also a lot of posts about what a pain it was remove old, install new. Several posts about still having to go to a exhaust shop for better fitment and welding. If mine had come with the duals I more then likely would have left it alone. Mine was a single out. In fact I looked at Mufflex way back when but then read posts about the what a pain to install and the leaks etc. I passed and went to a exhaust shop that specializes in custom work etc. They installed mine while I waited. Had rolled stainless tips and such on hand. Gave me a choice on stainless Magnaflow or standard,

Yes, my truck came with the factory dual exhaust. Supposedly the mufflex kit is supposed to be a simple bolt-on replacement off the old muffler. I plan to install the mufflex kit myself but I still will have to bring my truck to the exhaust shop to have him weld in my electric cutout; if the mufflex kit has any leaks I'll just have him fix it.

I have two exhaust cutouts that I took off of my Tundra (it came with a factory true dual set-up). Part of me wants to use both of my cutouts but the only way I can conceive of achieving this is putting one cutout on each side of the y-pipe; is this possible or would that be stupid? If I can't pull something off like that then I'll just have my exhaust guy put one of the cutouts a foot before the muffler and I'll just sell the other cutout.

I have a Magnaflow and it sounds awesome. I don't think that you are going to get away from the MDS "drone". Another thing, these trucks don't have "true" dual exhaust, I wish they did. It is just a single in/dual out muffler. I wonder how much HP gain they would get with a true dual........Anyways, they sound sweet even with the stock exhaust, ANY aftermarket is going to do the trick.

That was one cool feature about the Tundra is that it didn't have a y-pipe, it made for a very cool exhaust system. I put an x-pipe right before my dual cutouts it sounded like a mustang with gutted cats when I played with the pedal using sequential shift mode. Anyways I'll just run one cutout I guess it still will sound good like it did on my '05 Hemi. I'll shoot some videos of the 14" Magnaflow and DMH cutout when I have it installed within the next week or so :-).

You probably should have went with a 18 or 24 then.

When you put it on use an impact to get it nice and tight, also make sure the clamps are all the way on the edge of the pipe.

I had a mufflex 18" muffler for about a year and finally had enough of the drone on the road so I switched out to the corsa catback and absolutely love it. It has an aggressive sound and has no drone in the cab at all while cruising down the road at any speed.

Thanks for the tip Ohio. I would have gone with the 18" or 24" but where the factory resonators will still be in place I'm not too concerned about it. I am going to do the mufflex install myself and then I'll have my exhaust guy install the magnaflow y-pipe and DMH cutout further up near the front of the truck. I think the cutout will sound pretty badass if it's directly after the magnaflow y-pipe.
