Default help please with rim and tire questions

I dont enough much knowledge about the workings of rim and tires. Anyway, i have a 2010 ram 1500. It has the 20x8 aluminum wheels on it. I have the opportunity to get the factory chrome 20x9 rims. Since these rims are 1 inch wider, will my tire fit on these chrome rims?

Tires are not compatibile. I believe you need 275 60 20 size tires for the 20x9 rims. If you've got those (which I doubt) you're all set. I just purchased the Chrome Clad 20x9. I just need TIRES!

Look up your current set of tires on the tire rack website. http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp?s_...|e|6698782093&
Once you find them, select the specifications tab of the tire. This will provide you with all of the information you need - including wheel width reqs.

Those OEM 20s are good for up to a 9.5" rim.

You will be fine. Only size available from the factory for the 20 inch rims are 275/60 for both the 20x8 and 20x9 rims so it will work to use the tires you already have
