Default 2010 Ram 1500 Rust questions!

Hey Guys,

I m quite concerned about my '10 1500. I washed it today by hand since probably last fall, had a bunch of those touch less car wash coupons through out the winter.

As I was washing it. I noticed what looks to be pin holes/hair line through out the entire truck in random spots. I noticed it because I can see rust marks after I washed it. It looks like the paint might be bubbling off or something.

The rear bumper looks awful, the chrome is literally flaking off in spots. On all the doors and hood there is rust marks. Even the chrome on the mirrors has a few spots of both sides of the truck. I counted at least 50 rust spots not including the bumper.
If I wipe off the rust marks and rewash the same spot the rust is back.

I bought the truck new in August '10 from the dealership. They offered a clear coat and a undercoat. Each one costed about $1000 per. I had both done. I even decided to look under the truck and its rusty under there also where the undercoat once was.

Now its after hours and I am asking if anyone knows if this is a warranty/recall/anything issue or what? I do have the 5 year/160,000KM bumper to bumper warranty, the truck is currently at 12,000KM.

I don't drive on gravel roads and have literally put 4,000KMs from December to Now.

I v never seen this before, I had a '06 F150 before getting this, and it had 80,000KM and not a single rust spot.

I am baffled,

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Matt

Sounds like the dealership took you for a ride, and it's not one of those luxury rides either. Anyway, take it in as it should be under warranty.

Agree with the above statement, you may have been taken for a ride.

Undercoating just doesn't disappear in a few months or years for that matter. Just realize the rear axle, drive shaft, springs moving susppension parts are not coated and may show rust. Only the under body sheet metal and parts of the frame should be covered.

You should have a 1 year warranty on the paint so check in with the dealer.

Put up some pictures and show the rust and paint problems you are experiencing, it may help in getting assistance from other members and show them what to look for.
