Default How does your brake pedal feel?

I've noticed that my brake pedal doesn't feel as stiff as it used to nor as stiff as most other vehicles I've owned. Though normal pressure and travel are adequate to stop the truck in normal conditions I've found that if the truck is stopped and I keep pushing on the pedal it will keep going down almost to the floor (it stops just far enough so I can stick the toe of my shoe under it). This situation involves significant pedal travel after the point where the brakes feel like they have reached their normal 'full braking' point.

Does everyone's Ram act like this or is mine truly acting weird?

Thanks,
Rob

Do you have info on that recall? I don't think I've seen any communication about brake issues.

Thanks,
Rob

I drive with hand controls brakes are great, better than most vehicles I have driven. I think that extra push might have something to so with Hill Assist. I read something about how to engage it a long time ago and my daughter has is also on her Caliber and she has stick she said she just pushes the brake pedal all the way as far as it will go and it holds for a few seconds allowing you to get the car going forward without any sliding back. On the trucks its more for going down steep hills maybe pulling up hills too.

Hill start assist happens automatically.

Anyone else with comments on my brake situation? Based on the few folks commenting it seems like a normal thing.

Just popping this back up to the top to get some more feedback. Certainly there are others who can comment on their brake feel? I'm just trying to determine whether this is 'acting normal' or if I need to bring it to the dealer.

Thanks,
Rob

Mine feel the same as they did when the truck was new. Stiffer or softer than other cars I've driven, no point comparing different types of vehicles.

If it's different than it used to be, something is wrong! It should remain the same, basically, throughout it's life....

If it's different, time for a dealer visit.
